One was 7mm about the size of a pee. This little guy was working his way down Mike’s tract and slightly blocking the drain of his kidney.
One was 5mm and that one was just hanging out in a rough position at the bottom of the kidney.
And one was 1mm this little guy was hanging out in the other kidney and wasn’t harmful at all.
We explained to all the doctors we wanted to go to Thailand and we where leaving on Monday. They where great at getting everything done, even staying late so that we would be prepared on Wednesday for surgery. He got an x-ray, and a c- scan. Not only was the stone 7mm but also very hard. So they where going to have to get it, the harder, more painful way. (While he was getting this stuff done I was sitting all alone in the dark because the rest of the hospital on that floor was closed... and was really freaking out.)
On Wednesday it was time for surgery.
This is the shirt he wore:

I couldn’t get work off, but I did get someone to come in early so that I could be there when he came out. But I didn’t know he started late, so I started really freaking out when half an hour no ones comes. And then 5:45 no one comes. So finally I find the nurse that had helped me before. She felt so bad, she said don’t worry I think they are done. They didn’t start on time, and it was a hard surgery. But he is doing great! I’ll make sure the doctor comes and talks to you. When the doctor finished he found me and told me that it was very hard to get the stone out and since we where leaving, he wanted it out so he had to work harder then normal. But he was going to be in more pain because he had to dilate next to the kidney, to even get his scope up there. He said that he was in recovery and that he should be in shortly. He had a hard time waking up and said after he woke up it stunk really badly because of the oxygen mask so it took it off and the dumb nurse put it back on lol.
He had a rough time but as soon as they gave him some pain pills and some other pills; he was a lot better. Still grumpy but that’s understandable. He told the nurse he felt like a million bucks. She said "well I don’t want a million bucks if that’s how you feel." They were funny. I had brought mike some water from home and the nurses asked mike if he wanted some water. I said "oh i brought him some." They said "look at that, she is so sweet. well your going to be very well taken care of with for the rest of your life."
I’m grateful for those doctors to get this done so quickly so that we could go. And I’m grateful for his professors that have helped him move his finals so that he could go to them and not fail. It seems like the worst timing ever but it was better then finding out in Thailand and having to go to the doctor there. He is doing well today, and actually slept the most of the night! Thanks to everyone who has helped us with this. And thank you Britney and Min for helping me not loose my mind and talked to me while I was waiting.
The doctors gave us the go ahead to still go. So we are. But not doing much before then.
