About Brock at 4

I asked Brock to do a survey for his Birthday and I wanted to post it!

Whats your name? Brock Jordan Cole (he likes his whole name)
How old are you? 4 He can finally show people with his hands that he is 4
What is your favorite thing to do? He said walk to the park. But I think he means go to the park cause there is not parks close enough to walk too.. but he also added go to the mail box and get surprises.
What do you want to be when you grow up? He didnt know but he did know that he wants surprises in the mail.
What is your favorite food? he said Mac and cheese. He loves a lot of foods. and he does love Mac and cheese
Who do you like to spend time with? Dad
What do you do really well? make me (mom) dinner (help cook)
What makes you laugh? funny stuff
What is the best time of the day? he wasn't sure But when I asked him a few times he chimed in when dad comes home!
What are you afraid of? monsters lightning storms
Who is your best friend? Max
What do you like to do with your family? play games, bounce on the tramp
What do you love to learn about? animals
Where do you like to go?  to friends house
What is your favorite book? if you give a pig a pancake
If you had one wish what would it be? Green Gatorade
 I added a few questions (mainly cause he started asking me quesitons and pretending to write them down)

We went to the doctor and did his 4 year old check ups.
weight: 40 lbs
height 41 inches
BMI 75 percent in both weight and height as well
shoes: 11 ( he has big feet...)
Clothes he wears 5T but defiantly growing out in his shirts!

He's extremely excited about having a baby and likes to feel him move. or talk to him. He may know Brock more than his dad! because he talks to him so much all day when his dad is at work. He loves all the babies in his life and is so sweet with them.

He likes putting things in bags and carrying them around especially little animal figurines and his fox and fennec fox are always in there.

He can recognize every letter in his name and is trying to write them

He is starting to drawing people

He is left handed

He also recognizes most letters but frequently gets ones close looking mixed up. like U and V or M and W.

He loves animals and going to the zoo or ponds or the mountians. He frequently asks me animal questions and repeats them back to others. Or he wants to just talk about them. He knows many animal baby names and will correct you. oh look its a baby duck,  he said: no its a duckling. I held a chameleon and he pointed out all of his features and wanted to talk about them. I love that he loves animals, its what we certainly have in common. he loves animals shows! He loves to talk about where animals live and what the eat.

he loves playing in the water, it is certainly his happy place. He loves swimming but just playing in the water and baths as well!

 He loves sensory activities and getting dirty or wet or both!

He loves doing activities with mom, he loves painting and crafts.

he loves singing, not as much dancing as singing. and loves primary songs

He loves being outside, even if its just outside or house but especially in the mountains or exploring

4th of July

Well naturally our forth of July is one big party!
Will actually enjoyed the fireworks unlike last year. And we got to watch the big fireworks from the tent outside in Michael's moms backyard camping out. Will kept saying mom take a picture!
We had fun lighting off our own even though we didn't do too many.
They especially loved pop its.

We had a grill night for dinner and did fireworks on Saturday with ice cream of course and finished off lighting them at Michael's moms the next day.
we never went up close to the big ones, if I don't have a baby by the 24th we will get to them in Preston. If not then we can watch them next year. We still had a great 4th of July!

Brock turns 4

Brock turned 4 on July 4th. It was even more fun this year as his understanding of birthdays get bigger. He had a lot of parties between each family. The Olsen family did a birthday party for Britney and Brock plus mothers day and fathers day. (And that was the first of a kind of long 2 weeks of him asking for his birthday.)
He got a cool slip in slide from his Aunt Britney, Uncle snowman, Evalynn, max and Scarlet.
Though his Grandma and Grandpa Olsen forgot his present that day they came up on the 2nd and gave Brock some clothes, some transformer action figures, and his favorite an angry bear (bird) Yellowstone shirt!
We also had another chuck e cheese with everyone and had tons of fun and cashed in tickets for prizes after!
I made him a cool Angry Bird Cake! And my sister a watermelon cake. We had hotdogs and chicken skewers plus a million sides for dinner.

They sang to him in Primary and gave him popcorn and a sticker. They asked him a question so we could get to know him. They said "whats your favorite animal?" He responded "a Fennec Fox." And blew like everyone away. Someone said what is a Fennec Fox? He said it lives in the dessert and eats lobsters (he means scorpions). So I chimed in: Its a the fox with big ears, that lives in the dessert and they eat scorpions)... (pretty sure a few had to look him up) They were all impressed with his animal knowledge!

The next birthday was the Sunday before his birthday his Aunt Amy's birthday is 2 days before his, so the night was Amy's party (dinner and cake). That night consisted of fireworks and lots of fun playing. The boys both loved the fireworks this year.   We slept the night at Michael's moms backyard and had a birthday breakfast for Brock in the morning. He woke up that morning asking Michael if it was his birthday now? Michael said yes but I think he had to make sure because he asked me what day it was (he almost everyday asks what day it is) I told him it was July 4th to see if he connected it. Sure enough he did! Its my Birthday!!! He had to wait for presents which was so hard for him to do. After we ate we got to do presents. He got a stuffed Nick and tootie (Judy) from Grandma Cole and a Zootopia book from Melissa Kyle and Annabeth. Amy got him some cool Car and a cool racing thing to hold it. Daniel and Josh got him some water balloon toys and spider-man sunglasses. Alison and her family got him a stomp rocket (which is Wills favorite thing to do now).  He was really happy. And loved everything. Especially his Zootopia things

After Presents we headed home (I had decorated the house and made him angry bird cake #2 while Michael and his mom made breakfast.) It was fun to open the door and have Brock see his cake first, then streamers and balloons and a bunch of presents! He ran around saying wow! look at (this) He was pretty specific about what he wanted for months before. He wanted angry birds, Jessie and Slinkie (from toy story). He was really really happy when that was what he got. Then we said and guess what we are doing?!? We are going swimming!
We went to Riverdale resort up in Preston and spent the night up there. We brought his cake up and sang to him and had cake in the hotel after we had a pizza picnic and swam for about 41/2 hours.
Brock was amazing swimming and had such confidence in himself. He wanted Michael or I to go farther and farther out so he could swim to us. He had floaties but he really had a great form and wanted to swim everywhere. He jumped off the side in the deeper end. Will stayed on the stairs and got upset everytime we left them (no mom the stairs!). (same fear his mom has I guess) After a few hours he got braver and would jump in from the sides. but only cause he could see the stairs and I was close.
We left early the next day and had a relaxing day at home playing with his toys and resting.

We didn't actually take many pictures of the resort and I sadly lost the one I had of his cake. (I'm not sure what happened I am pretty sad about it) I am glad we have our memories! and a blog to write them down!
He had an amazing birthday!! He loved everything. Thank you all!

June

June was much like May trying to get as much summer stuff in without killing myself. We have stayed pretty busy playing this summer that's for sure! though it wasn't really warm enough to get the pool out before (we still played in the sprinklers). So there was a lot more water partying going on!

 Brock had a weird day were he honestly would not walk on his foot or put any pressure. We still don't know entirely what was wrong just that it was hurt. But we had to get an x ray since he wouldn't put any weight on it at all.

And my belly with ultrasound picture. The 2nd trimester flew by and the 3rd started off that way too. He is active mostly at night and in the morning. I have craved pancakes, lime juice, tacos, sour candies, and chocolate. Heartburn came with vengeance and has only got worse. I am still measuring a week big but the doctor isn't worried. I am really struggling with restless leg syndrome especially if I am on my feet a lot (So not a lot of sleep). He moves but not crazy and he likes to just remind me hes there instead of making me feel like hes going to break out. Naming him has been tough. And we are waiting until he is born to fully decide (way different then the other boys). I am really getting ready to not being pregnant. This one by far has been the hardest. I am excited to meet our little boy and make this whole pregnancy worth it!!
