My sister and I have always been
very close, maybe not really in age but still the best of friends. I was so
excited to find out that she was going to be having a baby at the same time as
me! We have had fun going back and forth saying what we have learned or about
or babies development. So when she texted me yesterday and told me her water
broke I was in shock! I knew about how big the baby must be considering she is
only 1 week ahead of me. I knew that he would be in the NICU for a long time if
she delivers him today. And that it would break everyone’s hearts. Oh how I
wish we lived closer so that I could race down to the hospital and see her.
I had to busy myself doing things
because I knew it would be awhile before I knew what was going on. Finally I get
a call from my mom saying that she was not in Labor and that he was still in
her tummy. They where trying to do an ultrasound but she didn’t know much more.
I knew that it would be a lot for them to tell everyone what was going on so I
just left it as good news and waited. Michael was at school when it happened. I
texted him and his reaction was about the same.
After she got settled she got to text me a couple of time
and let me know they were ok, his heart rate was good and that even though he was
really low she was only dilated to a 2 and she hadn’t had any contractions.
They gave the baby steroids to speed up development, and she was on antibiotics.
They needed her to hold of on labor for at least 48 hours so they could give
him all the steroids to speed up his development as much as possible. And so
far so good. :)
She started a blog so that anyone who wanted to could read thier story, and how they were doing.
Instead of writing her story down I thought you could all just read it in her words (she is so much better at writing then I am anyways)
And Please pray for them!
