This past month has been a lot of fun, but a lot! We will start
with the first week which is actually the last few days of April. Michael did
some yard work for the church and was bit by some strange bug which left him
doing finals with extremely itchy legs! Even after cortisone, nail polish,
rubbing alcohol, and anything else people told us to do it still itched
like crazy. Finally he went in to see the doctor after it
started blistering and looking a lot worse. Tuesday, Brock had
started having seizures again. One during a walk of ours and I spent the few
days on the phone with doctors and trying to get things figured out with him.
He had maxed out on the first medicine we gave him and needed to start a new
medicine. The tricky thing with babies and medicine is that it’s not like we
can just stop one and start another. We have to slowly give him more and more
of one, and after he has had a few days of the full amount of the new one
finally start weaning him off of the old one. As you can imagine he didn't really
feel great. Then I went to the doctor and we found out we have a very wiggly
little boy. He kept running away from the ultrasound pressing on my belly. He
already looks pretty darn cute, and well I don't mean to brag but I think we
make cute babies, so I am pretty excited to see this little one!
Let’s just say for a normal healthy
bunch of people getting 6 prescriptions filled that week was a little crazy!
And we managed to get the same guy at Walgreens every time. He probably thought
we were crazy. I am happy to announce that Michael didn't fail his finals,
but actually did really well, regardless of itchy legs and seizures.
t He last picture in this one shows what it looked like after he started taking steroids....
After all of this we had one day to pack
and drive to Little Rock to fly to Utah and then drive to Idaho. So
we forgot a lot of things to pack but we got there and we were so happy to be
there. I am so grateful for all the TLC. It was exactly the break we needed. I
just felt so bad because our poor little boy was really having it rough and
they didn't get to really see him in action like we would have liked. It was a
lot for his poor little body to take (adding all that new medication), on top
of teething, and traveling in general. Which I think made me ever so grateful
for the help. I would have had to do it by myself if we were at home. But it
made us feel bad!
I honestly did an awful job at taking
pictures of the trip; I did get a few though.
Sad boy traveling too much and ready for bed.
Lots of puppies at Grandma Coles and Melissa's house!
Playing with Dad at the Airport.
Grandma Cole has a fun little play room under the stairs and Brock had a lot of fun in there.
Ghost Brock, he loved Grandma Coles soft Blanket.
Coming home...
Yeah that was a sad amount of pictures!
Michael’s leg continued to get worse, so
Michaels mom dragged him to the doctor (thank goodness) in Idaho were he got 2
more prescriptions and a shot. Honestly no one knew what was going on with him,
but they think it was a fungal infection from the bug.
On Friday we ended up in Brigham to see my sister get married. I feel like they have been a part of our family forever but it was nice to see them seal the deal! They all looked great and I still can’t get over how beautiful my sister looked!! I especially loved all the cuddles I got to have with Max. My friends watched Brock during the Wedding itself and then we all headed over to the park for a luncheon.
We visited with my family for the afternoon and the next morning
and headed to Layton to say goodbye to Michael’s family before we drove to Salt
Lake to fly home.
It was a great visit and Brock loved his
family and all the animals he got to play with! Thanks everyone so much.
All Brigham Pictures are courtesy of my dad’s camera that he
emailed to me! Horrible picture taker again!
My best friend Emily met us in Little
Rock and spent the week with us. We tried to do something fun every day but we
did spend a lot of time just hanging out at home with Brock napping. I still
feel like it was a great visit, I was so glad she came.
Sunday we went to Church and we went for a
walk around the neighborhood
We went to eat BBQ at the BBQ shop and
grocery shopping, on Monday
On Tuesday she came with me to a Neurology
appointment, and then we went to the Pink Palace Museum. (And Michael went back
to the doctor for his leg; he ended up with Thrush because of the steroids.)
On Wednesday we went to the River walk and Mudd Island.
as you can tell Brock loved playing in the water!
Memphis and West Memphis you can see Mudd Island (were we are!)
The Gulf of Mexico
This
was actually are first time going here. I wanted to go to the Mississippi River
with Emily and I had seen pictures from my friends' blogs of this place but
hadn't actually made it! I thought it was so much fun. It is a replica of the
Mississippi river and the Gulf is a fun little fountain and pond where you can
rent paddle boats, the park itself is free we just paid 6 dollars for parking.
There is also a Museum there (which we didn't go into) but we loved the park!
This is how
flooded the Mississippi is this year! For those of who came last year and hiked
down a hill to see the Mississippi, you can tell how much rain we have had!
On Thursday we went to the Zoo, and ate at
Soul Fish
On Friday we went to Beale Street we drove
around and we went to the temple and did a session.
On Saturday we took her back to Little
Rock. She started her new job that Monday! I had too much fun. We ate lots of
good food and desserts and stayed up way too late talking. One day I guess I
was finally wore out enough and I fell asleep with Brock. But she was ok she
just watched some TV.
Michael got really sick after she left and
then Brock got sick with a cold. So the rest of the week was just a blur
taking care of these guys.
We got a fun pool to play in which we
haven't got play in much yet, but we did have a couple fun days.
Michael got to feel his new baby
move around; though he kept running away from his hands. We finally came
up with a name.
Brock became used to his medication
and just started to be so fun and grow so much! (I will show you all of his new
developments in his 11 month post coming soon!) Though he did get a fever for a
few days and we ended up talking him in to La Boehner when he woke up and he
was burning up. It lasted for a few days but he's doing lots better now.
For Memorial Day we went to the zoo with a
family in our ward that also goes to school with Michael. They had never been
to the zoo before and we had some half off coupons with our year pass. We
played in the water and Brock had a lot of fun.
The Babies waiting for the Sea Lion Show!
This is Baby Teva, This is the first time we have got to see her, she was born one week before Brock was!
Our friend Samwell and Baby Teva
Playing in the water! Both boys loved it.
And I just keep getting bigger and bigger (and more and more tired)! I ended this month at 23 1/2 weeks.
